Tinted Windows @ The Borgata, Atlantic City, NJ (5/2/09)

Tinted Windows is a power-pop supergroup consisting of guys from Hanson (Taylor Hanson), Smashing Pumpkins (James Iha), Fountains of Wayne (Adam Schlesinger), and Cheap Trick (Bun E. Carlos)… as you can see, they pretty much got the full demographic age spectrum covered. On stage, they look like a totally random mismatch of personalities; however, their sound is just about as awesome as you imagine it would be… and I don’t mean the “so bad it’s awesome” kind of awesome either. But hey, if you choose to enjoy it ironically that’s completely up to you. It’s bands like this that I actually hope DO get big… besides, we need to cut down on that talkbox bullshit they seem to be playing so much of on the radio these days (yes, I admit to occasionally listening to Top 40 radio).

I don’t shoot shows at venues of this size (i.e., large) too often. The lighting was fine, but the stage was super high and there were monitors set up all over the place which impeded me from getting any satisfactory wide-angle shots of the whole band. If you haven’t noticed, I’m a big time wide-angle shooter so this posed a bit of a problem for me. Other than that, I have only myself to blame for any half-assedness of these photos. I admit, it was nice not having to shoot at ISO 1600 for once in my life. See the rest of my photos on Flickr. And in case you wonder… yes, Taylor Hanson’s pants really ARE that tight. Move over Hanson collage from the ’90s… time to make room for a new Tinted Windows collage. SWOON!
